Oakdale Music
Adult Choir
The adult choir meets on Wednesdays at 7 pm. We practice for one hour. The Adult Choir is the primary worship leadership group for both the 8:15 am and 10:45 am morning worship services. We welcome adults who enjoy praising the Lord through song. We also welcome youth Grades 7-12 who are currently active and regular in attendance to Youth Choir.
Youth Choir
The Youth Choir meets each Sunday at 4 PM with a snack supper following. The group is for students in grades 7-12, and leads worship during the last Sunday night service of the month. This year, our youth choir plans to present music from the collection Are We There Yet? by Dennis Allen, which was the music for SonPower 2011. Our youth choir also plans to be part of HeartSong 2012, to be held June 26-30, 2012, at William Carey University in Hattiesburg. Our youth choir enthusiastically welcomes any new teenagers that enjoy singing!
Children's Music Ministry
Oakdale has a fully graded choir program for kids. We meet Wednesdays from 6 PM to 7 PM, and we meet year round. The 2011-2012 theme for Children’s Choirs will be “The Big Picture,” and will focus on teaching our children to use all of their creative gifts in service to God. Our combined children's choirs will also present a musical in May 2012.

Young Musicians
Young Musicians is the choir group for kids in Grades 4-6. We meet in the choir room and use the curriculum of LifeWay’s Children’s Music Series. This group participates in the annual State Young Musicians' Festival held at Mississippi College where they sing with Young Musicians' groups from all over the state. Mike Hudson, Crissy Parker, and Curtis Baker work with the Young Musicians.
Music Makers
Music Makers are children in Grades 1-3. They work through music of the Children’s Music Series by LifeWay. Music Makers sing for church on occasion and learn about music concepts and worship concepts in their weekly sessions. Mary Baker and Marlynn Martin work with this group. Music Makers meets in Room #27, across from our choir room.
Music Time Singers
Music Time Singers are children age 3 through Kindergarten. They use the Music Time materials from LifeWay’s Children’s Music Series each week. Sonji Rogers and Cynthia Hudson lead this group. They currently meet in the “Handprint Room,” which is the last room on the left going down the south hall from the sanctuary.
